In 1850, The Hamilton Gas Light Company built the Gasworks to fuel streetlights and homes.
The John and Ellie Voortman Charitable Foundation purchased the Gasworks in 2016 to fuel arts, education, and community. Nearly two centuries later, The Gasworks continues to provide light to the people of Hamilton and beyond.
My porch show at the Gasworks was a very special experience. The sound was lush, the crowd was attentive, and having the sun set over me as I performed was magical.
Our concert on the porch of the Gasworks could not have been better! The staff was so hospitable, knowledgable, and made the whole process so easy - and the venue was gorgeous! The Gasworks took care of the all the details so we could focus on our audience and our music.
Playing at the Gasworks was such a fun and easy experience. Not only was the venue beautiful, but the set-up was also quick and the staff was very friendly and attentive.
Performing at the Gasworks was special! A great room and great audience. Makes it easy for performers to create. I'm so glad it exists, as live music is in need.
The Gasworks is a top-notch, quiet, well-maintained space that puts the needs and objectives of the community-minded organizations that work here first. The theatre is one of the best sounding rooms in town since the 2020 renovation.
