HAMILTON MUSIC COLLECTIVE
The Hamilton Music Collective (HMC) is a charitable organization that was founded in 2008 by a local group of musicians, educators and community supporters, who are passionate about music and believe in its transformative power to enrich lives and empower students. HMC’s mission is to invigorate the music scene in Hamilton through professional live performances, education, events, workshops and exhibits.
RE-CREATE ART STUDIO
RE-create welcomes youth artists who identify as experiencing marginalization and barriers in their day to day life, whether that is weathering the storms of mental health issues, living independently at a young age, or experiencing precarious housing or income. RE-create’s studio space, which is shared with a number of other youth-serving arts organizations, is a safe and accepting place for youth to come and discover their creative, expressive side through the arts.
WILLOWBRIDGE COMMUNITY SERVICES
Willowbridge Community Services is a not-for-profit organization offering developmental services and counselling across Hamilton, Brantford, Niagara, and Haldimand Norfolk. They are renting an office at The Gasworks and partner with other tenants such as RE-create with community programming.
HAMILTON BIC CHURCH
The Hamilton BIC Church has been meeting at The Gasworks since 2016. They provide a vibrant spiritual community and currently meet weekly on Sundays at 10am.
GORE PARK COMMUNITY OUTREACH
One hundred volunteers work together to serve over 800 people every Saturday under all weather conditions at Gore Park in downtown Hamilton. They provide a hot meal and a few grocery supplies for the upcoming week.
When Gore Park Outreach first started during COVID, their focus was serving the homeless around Gore Park. Currently, 80% of the people they serve are struggling seniors, people with disabilities, families with children, refugees, and post-secondary students. The other 20% served those experiencing homelessness.
Gore Park Community Outreach uses a building that The Gasworks leases to store food & clothing.
CHORUS HAMILTON
Chorus Hamilton was founded in 1968 and continues to be one of Hamilton’s most active semi-professional mixed community choirs. They rehearse Tuesday evenings in the theatre at The Gasworks.
LIVING ROCK – STROLLER FIT GROUP
Each Friday morning, the Living Rock’s stroller fit group for young mom’s comes to The Gasworks for an opportunity to socialize together.
